The 80s were a great era of games. In that time the gaming industry has come to a significant turning point. The biggest change was the invention of the first prototypes of gaming consoles.



Before the computers and video gaming machines were introduced to this world, the most popular game was the rubix cube. In order to learn how to solve a rubix cube you had to use logical and mathematical skill. The rubix cube was a physical game that you had to scramble it with your hands for hours and hours until you find the right solution of it.



The Tetris games was another logical game but much more easy. First there are less choices and solutions in this game and second you could play it only with game console - big or small. The key element of the Teris was to do it fast and you didn't have to think about each step too much like you should have do in order to solve the rubix cube.



Pac man game was a complete console game, and in order to finish it you did not need such mathematical and logical skills like with the rubix cube and even the Tetris game. To success in this game you need to plane your move but still it was more about being quick then being calculated.




By looking on this three type of games: the rubix cube, Tetris and Pac man you can see the evolutions of games in the early 80s. Not only the manual games become computerized, but also playing the developed games requires less logical and mathematical skills then the older ones. Therefore the inevitable conclusion is that in the 80s years the gaming industry has changed it focus from pure brainy skill to pure fun. But still, even today there is no other alternative to learning how to solve a rubix cube...
